Serdiuks are the main combat arm of the Hetmanate Federation. They take part in all active operations and, unlike Haiduks, conduct offensive campaigns.

Fighting the Khartsyzy
Every space palanka has several Serdiuk regiments at its disposal. This allows each palanka to conduct offensive operations. For example, if Khartsyzy appear in a system, the Serdiuks are ordered to destroy their main force or grind it down to a level at which the Khartsyzy again recognize imperial authority.
External Threats
Although open wars between empires are fairly rare, Serdiuks are still the troops most often committed to them.
Armament
All new weapon types go first to the Serdiuks. Because they often fight in space and planetary battles, new inventions can be combat-tested and refined quickly through them. Serdiuks were the first to test Terminator armor, copied from trophies after an encounter with the space marines of the Corporate Republic.

Plastuns
Light scouts. There are both space Plastuns and ordinary planetary ones. Their main tasks are reconnaissance of planetary surfaces and regions of space. They rarely enter combat, only when victory is guaranteed. Otherwise they gather intelligence and pass it to the main force. Their main advantages are speed and mobility. They are also used to cut enemy logistics during planetary sieges or space raids.
Planetary Troops
They have only light combat spacesuits for fighting on planets that have not been fully terraformed to the minimum life-support level without respirators or inhalation gear. They have access to all types of weapons: artillery, cavalry, tanks, and flyers. Serdiuks from such units rarely take part in space battles on moons or artificial satellites.
