Halving is a punishment applied to populations and military units for disobedience to the Space Sich. Every second person is executed by random lot. The survivors are reduced to slave status together with their whole families and deported across all systems controlled by the Hetmanate Federation.
It is usually applied to systems that were captured by Khartsyzy and supported them.
In extreme cases, it can be applied to Serdiuk or Haiduk units that refuse orders. Because of this, many of them flee to the Khartsyzy in such cases to avoid execution or enslavement.
